About
Cacao ceremony and song circle is a gathering where the community comes together to sit with the medicine of cacao. Cacao is a sacred medicine. We approach it that way: with intention, with respect for the traditions it comes from, and with gratitude for the people who grow and prepare it. This is not a tasting or a social hour. It is a ceremony. We open the space together, share a cup of ceremonial cacao, and take time to commune with it in quiet. Then we pass the circle around. Anyone who has a medicine song to offer can share it, and the rest of us hold the space and sing along when the song invites it. You do not need to be a singer or know any songs. Listening is a full way to take part. What to bring: a cushion or blanket to sit on, a water bottle, and an instrument if you play one. Come with a light stomach, since cacao is best received that way. Cacao is a gentle stimulant. If you are pregnant, take heart medication or antidepressants, or have a heart condition, please check with your doctor before drinking a ceremonial dose, or ask us for a smaller cup. All are welcome. We ask that you arrive on time so the circle can open together. Thank you!
